A holiday trailer and shed were destroyed and two nearby manufactured homes damaged in a Tuesday evening fire in Stettler.

The fire is believed to have started in the trailer, which was parked behind a mobile home in a neighbourhood on 54th Avenue Close in northwest Stettler, said Stettler Regional Fire Chief Mark Dennis.

The call came in around 7:50 p.m. and the trailer fire was fully involved and spreading to the nearby shed when firefighters arrived. Fourteen firefighters responded to the blaze with an engine, aerial and rescue truck, said Dennis on Wednesday.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes and left the scene around 10:25 p.m.

“There were no injuries, I’m happy to say,” he said.

The tandem-wheel trailer was burned down to the frame and the shed it was parked next to completely gutted in the fire. Damage was estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
